UNFPA in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and the Family and the National Union of Women (UNFD) have set up an orientation and care circuit for victims of gender-based violence, including FGM to ensure the continuity of reproductive health services.
This VGF / MGF victim’s orientation plan enabled the national gendarmerie to ensure the permanence of guidance and care services through the establishment of a free line "1520.
The national gendarmerie received 94 calls from women victims of physical violence during the confinement period from March to May 2020.
This initiative made it possible to take care of a case of a young girl victim of FGM with complications within a referral structure (Balbala Hospital).
