UNFPA, in partnership with youth organizations, held a roundtable discussion on engaging youth in the fight against gender-based violence, including FGM on 23 December. The event included a knowledge-sharing session on the national response to GBV allowing young participants to engage with a panel of experts, including parliamentarians, doctors, social workers, lawyers, religious leaders as well as international consultants and human rights activists. More than 156 young people took part in the discussion. The workshop resulted in an action plan that aims at: strengthening youth leadership, scaling up community-based actions, and affirming the commitment of men and boys in the fight against GBV.
