On 17-23 November, the Ministry of Women and the Family, in partnership with UNFPA and with financial support from the European Union, ran a campaign to promote the declaration of religious leaders for the total abandonment of female genital mutilation in two municipalities of the city of Djibouti, organize a session for the Mourchidates (female religious advocates), and support and expand communities convinced of abandoning FGM. The campaign reached 105 new religious leaders who are committed to fight against harmful practices.
