The National Union of Djiboutian Women in collaboration with UNFPA organized a training workshop on the referral of victims of VFG-MGF to the care facilities from 18 to 19 June 2018 at UNFD.
This workshop follows the implementation of a protocol for the care and referral of victims of gender-based violence, including FGM.
The aim of this workshop was to train community relays on the referral of FGM cases, to inform and sensitize women leaders on the issues arising from this harmful practice.
This workshop reached 84 women and girls leaders in Djibouti neighborhoods on the care and referral of victims of gender-based violence, including FGM.
The 84 women trained have signed a declaration to denounce cases of FGM and to refer victims of VFG-MGF to the care facilities
