Parliamentarians engage in law reform on gender-based violence and harmful practices

The National Human Rights Commission with the support of UNFPA initiated a behavior change movement towards harmful practices with the public declaration of commitment of parliamentarians to fight against FGM in 2018.

Following this success, the National Commission of Human Rights of Djibouti initiates training on human rights for the parliamentarians in order to bring them to launch a reform on the law violence against women and young people including the FGM.

This training helped set up a commission and identified a pool of 15 parliamentarians responsible for reform.
