On 26 August, UNFPA and the Ministry of Women and Family, with support from the European Union, organized a workshop to establish a national governance system for the GBV response.

The workshop brought together representatives of the technical departments of the Ministry to develop a common understanding of their roles and responsibilities in the GBV response, including FGM.

The objectives of the workshop were to coordinate the GBV response using a multisectoral approach, review national laws and policies, and evaluate the quality of response provided.
