On 8 December, UNFPA ASRO joined the high-level meeting of the Djibouti national assembly in the Parliament chaired by the President of the Commission on Population and development. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss population-related issues, mainly maternal and newborn health in the Arab region, and ways to enhance the achievement of the goals set out in the 2030 Agenda and the full implementation of the ICPD25 commitments and the three transformative results. Representatives of the parliament of Djibouti, the Asian Population and Development Association (APDA), and the Forum for Arab Parliamentarians for Population and Development (FAPPD) took part in the meeting. The meeting was covered by the national Radio and Television of Djibouti (RTD) and the leading local newspaper ‘La Nation.
