UNFPA in partnership with the Research Institute of the Horn of Africa and the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Center (CLE) has organized an international conference on social change and the evolution of gender relationships in the Horn of Africa from 16 to 17 October.

The conference was attended by 25 researchers from the University of Djibouti, the Research Center for Higher Education (CERD), and the French national center for scientific research on gender.

This conference focused on the following themes: the aging process linked to gender, access Djiboutian women's rights and politics, gender-based violence, including FGM, but also to understand the difficulties of gender-specific reduction in access to social services databases and reproductive rights in Djibouti.

The conference aimed also the support to the Djiboutian researchers in order to fill data gaps in Djibouti.
