calendar_today 25 February 2018

Empowering youth on sexual and reproductive health

L’Association Djiboutienne pour l’Équilibre et la Promotion de la Famille (ADEPF) in partnership with IPPF and the UNFPA office organized a training workshop for trainers in Sexuality Education (ESC) in Djibouti from 25-28 February 2018. This four-day course is moderated by experts from IPPF's Arab Regional Office.

The members of the association as well as 30 young volunteers (university, young graduates, and young unemployed graduates) participated in this training.

The aim of this workshop was to strengthen participants' capacities in Sexual and Reproductive Health Education and to introduce adolescents and young people to share knowledge about reproductive rights related to sexual risk behaviors, to ensure gender equality and to eliminate stigma, discrimination and social exclusion of young people.

ADEPF plans to duplicate this training in community development centers (CDC) in Djibouti by peer educators in order to strengthen access to sexual and reproductive health services for young people.
