UNFPA in collaboration with the government of Djibouti and the national statistics institute are in the process of carrying out the 3rd General Population and Housing Census (RGPH-3). The particularity of this third census is that it will use new information and communication technologies (ICT) for data collection.
It is with this in mind, UNFPA in partnership with INSTAD organized a 5-day training course from October 23 to 27, 2022 for 10 computer scientists, statisticians, demographers and cartographers on the finalization of cartographic sheets, finalization of geographical codes as well as the development of applications for collecting pilot mapping data.
UNFPA supported INSTAD in the establishment of weekly meetings, to ensure periodic monitoring of data collection in the development and production of the document on the 3rd General Population and Housing Census (RGPH-3). ).
The next steps of this exercise are to finalize as a priority the supervision application and to develop the collection monitoring application for both INSTAD staff and to identify the CSWEB server which will host the data from the 3rd census.
