UNFPA, in partnership with the Ministries of Health and Women's Affairs, organized an official event to launch a study on the prevalence of breast and cervical cancer and human papillomavirus infection (HPV) on 7 June. According to Globocan 2020 data, breast and cervical cancer are the most common cancers in Djibouti and the main causes of cancer mortality. The aim of the study is to support the Government’s efforts in preventing and controlling cancer among women, help decision makers develop a national cancer control strategy, and develop an action plan to reduce breast and cervical cancer mortality.
