As part of the work to promote the rights to sexual and reproductive health-related to FGM, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in partnership with the National Commission of Human Rights (CNDH) organized 28 to 29 August 2018, a training workshop on sexual and reproductive rights and FGM for civil society and journalists.

This workshop aimed to train civil society groups and journalists on reproductive rights in connection with FGM to enable participants to assimilate the reproductive rights as part full of human rights and that FGM is a violation of these fundamental rights.

At the end of the training, representatives of civil society and the media developed an action plan to strengthen their interventions for the abandonment of FGM by promoting reproductive rights.
