As part of its celebration of the national midwifery week, 24 - 31 May, UNFPA, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the National Network of Midwives, distributed 100 hygiene kits in the maternity wards at Dar-El Hanan and Cheiko of Balbala hospitals. The visits were an opportunity to discuss with the doctors of the two maternity wards the necessary improvement in antenatal care to help reduce maternal and newborn deaths.
