On 21-26 January, UNFPA and the Department of Maternal and Child Health of the Ministry of Health organized an intensive training of trainers on maternal deaths and neonatal audits for 40 health professionals, obstetrician-gynecologists, and neonatologists from the MoH, and the hospitals of Chieko and Dar Al- Hanan. 

The training objective was to build the capacities of the trainees to cascade their knowledge by setting up an audit process in their respective facilities. 

The aim of the training was to improve the quality of maternal and newborn health services to help reduce maternal mortality.
