#ليس_أمراً_طبيعياً : حملة صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان لمواجهة خطر اعتبار العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي أمراً طبيعياً تأتي حملة #ليس_أمراً_طبيعياً رداً على تزايد التقارير من النساء والفتيات بأن العنف ضدهن آخذ في الانتشار دون رادع، وينظر إليه كأمر طبيعي في بعض المجتمعات. وقد انضم لحملة صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان فنانات ومؤثرات من المنطقة العربية، من أجل مواجهة هذا التوجه المقلق، وتعظيم أصوات النساء والفتيات الناجيات من العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي، وإعادة التأكيد على الالتزام العالمي بإنهاء العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي بما في ذلك العنف الجنسي في النزاعات، وتوفير العدالة وخدمات الدعم للمتضررات

The Nairobi Statement was formulated after six months of global consultations led by the International Steering Committee on ICPD25, with hundreds of organizations and thousands of people involved. It provides a global framework for the formulation of government and partner commitments. Since it is non-binding, countries and other stakeholders may choose to support the Nairobi Statement in its entirety, in part, or not at all. In no way does supporting the Nairobi Statement infringe upon national sovereignty.

In the Arab States region, 55% of girls aged 15-19 experiences FGM including 78.4% women and girls of reproductive age in Djibouti. UNFPA works to bring these numbers down to ZERO. Il y a cinquante ans, le 13 mai 1968, le monde a déclaré que la planification familiale était un droit fondamental. Le document final de la conférence, connu sous le nom de Proclamation de Téhéran, a déclaré sans équivoque: « Les parents ont le droit fondamental de déterminer librement et consciemment la dimension de leur famille et l'échelonnement des naissances ». Pourtant, 50 ans plus tard, la lutte pour la planification familiale est loin d'être terminée.
